Getting Produce to Market!
Many places in PNG are remote, with no road access. In these pictures a PNG man is bringing his watermelons to market on a bamboo raft. After the raft journey the watermelons were loaded into a dugout canoe and transported along the Markham river and into town, industrious and ingenious! (Photo credit: Peter & Sampan Zamampuam)
