IT’S A BOY!!

Dear Friends and Co-laborers in this wonderful call to advance the Kingdom of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ:

We are happy to inform you that after 4 years of paperwork, procedures, waiting and lots of prayer, our hearts’ desire has been granted.  As of Wednesday, the 23rd of June, we have with us our second son,Leonardo.

We had to travel to the city of Lima, in order to bring him home to the jungle.  Initially,  the Airline did not allow our

return flight with Leonardo, because they were not familiar with the legal documents we were given by the adoption agency and the government (giving us permission as adoptive parents to travel with him.) We had to extend our stay in Lima by 4 days and the government had to intervene so that we could travel with Leonardo.

We are now home with our precious Leonardo, who is 4 and ½ years old. He is a

sweet boy with a strong will. He enjoys fruits and veggies and he is always willing to help.

Joaquin, is enjoying being the “big brother” showing him around the house, showing him how to gather the eggs the hens have laid, how to care for our pets and all the things that encompass being a part of this family.

We will  continue the post adoption procedures, the supervision and visits of the National Adoption Office, which will be every 6 months for the next 3 years.

In the next 3 weeks, after the post adoptive follow up we will continue the trips to the city of

Huanuco, to support the training programs for persons with a disability (YAPEY MINISTRY.)

We thank God that in the last few weeks we have been able to focus on the needs of our family and continue to  minister in our local church of Yarinacocha with the married couples group and giving support to the Pastoral Team.

Thank you for your support and prayers on behalf of our family and ministry.

Thank you for making it possible for us to be together as a family.Especially in a time and culture  where family can lose its value and importance due to work/ministry and outside distractions.

PRAYER REQUESTS:

  • Please pray for Leonardo’s adaptation as a member of our family and for all the paperwork needed.
  • Please pray that the doors remain open to minister to persons with disabilities.
  • Please pray that the Lord would give us the wisdom to guide our children in His ways, since we would fall short of our goal, if we won many others to the Lord and lost our own.

With grateful hearts,

Juan Pablo, Marianela, J. Joaquín & Leonardo García.
