In the midst of the social and political crisis that Peru is going through, and after four years of waiting, we have received the news from the national adoption office that we are appointed as the parents of Leonardo Ángel!
Joaquín is super excited, as he will finally have a little brother, and he wants to travel now to be with him. We told him that he has to wait a little longer and that we must continue praying about it.
This is the first photo we have of Leonardo. He is 4 years old and is in an orphanage in the capital city of Lima. We are currently carrying out the procedures and arrangements for our first empathy meeting with him and to find out when we can to travel to bring Leonardo home. They told us that it may be in two weeks.
Thank you for your prayers over this whole process. Juan Pablo has suspended his trips to the mountains in this month of June to concentrate on the preparations of the house and also on the adaptation time with our son. Please continue praying because the pandemic has changed the processes for the time of empathy and we
still do not know if our first meeting will be virtual or in person.
Pray also for the documentation that we will carry out for his release from the orphanage and for the procedures before the National Identity Registry.
