And the God of all grace, who called you to his eternal glory in Christ, after you have suffered a little while, will himself restore you and make you strong, firm and steadfast. To him be the power for ever and ever. Amen.

1 Peter 5:10-11 NIV

Dear Friends and Family in Christ,

A few months have passed since the Lord allowed us to return to the Peru to continue serving Him.

Things are slowly improving here in Peruvian Amazon, including in the jungle cities of Iquitos and Pucallpa, although others are still under a state of health emergency. This includes Huanuco, so we are praying for a decrease of cases of coronavirus that we may continue ministering to and serving the disabled people there.

By God’s grace we’ve been able to support and strengthen the local church in Yarinacocha through ministry and preaching online and by directing the marriage and couples’ ministry. The church recently evaluated our work and through them we now have a better health insurance for our family. Thanks be to God. Like in many families, Marianela appears to do most of the work. Now, besides her work as a homemaker, wife, and marriage counselor, she has added the job of teacher, guiding and helping Joaquín with his online “home schooling”.

Sadly, after a recent home visit it was decided we need to restart the adoption process because the adoption agency was unaware that Joaquín’s grandparents, Marianela’s parents, live with us. They want us to add on to our home to make room for our future son or daughter, so we are trying to build a space or room to meet this requirement for our adoption approval. We have not lost our desire or enthusiasm to grow our family. Thank you for your prayers and support in this.

Also, the Lord has given us a great surprise after carrying a desire in our hearts that we’ve only fully shared with Him, until now. We had been praying to be able to use our own property to host church gatherings, Christian retreats, and evangelistic camps for disabled people and churches to encourage and further the Church of Christ. The surprise is that a few days ago Kids Alive Peru contacted us that they want to hand over the Mission TEC campus and its administration to the original missionary families, including our family. Our hope is to use it for our current ministry with the disabled and with local churches. We were so astounded by this that we requested two weeks to consider and pray over this. You all are the people that God is using to confirm and support our calling in ministry. We want to minister according to His revelation and provision, so please pray with us and for us in the Lord’s leading and also share your thoughts and opinions with us.

Yours in Christ,
Juan Pablo, Marianela y Juan Joaquin Garcia
